nursery ballot?
i got a letter in saying that i have been invited to the nusery ballot in the nursery next week... as theres only 11places and 28 applicants.
what should i expect to happen? i am just assuming its for dylans place ... now im panicking that he wont get to go to the nursery i want him to (which is taylors)
as i already know we are in catchment for another school... least if i find out next week he hasnt got the place then i can enroll him in the schools one , but still he knows taylors nursery and knows all the teachers too .. im actually sat her going tsk!!!

Re: nursery ballot?
dont know. Thats bad that you have catchment areas for nurseries. In luton we dont, tylers not going to the nursery in our neighbourhood
Re: nursery ballot?
why you got dylan's down already? i dont understand, lol?
yeah i've heard of that, think they pull names out of hats...is it for morning sessions? as they are normally busy so if you dont get the place you might get an afternoon or get your 2nd choice nursery or that.
they dont have catchments i think she means..for the school not the nursery. x

Re: nursery ballot?
whenyou apply for a nursery place lots of factors get taken into account, ie, does he/she have afamily member there, arethey in the catchement area, etc. So he willgetpoints for taylor being there but if your outside the catchment area you will get points deducted, its such a complicated thing.
Is it a school nursery? will he go 2.5 hours per day?
As for the ballot they pull names from a hat, they had to do that in shotts nursery where my friend works, hence why i know about the point scoring system.

Re: nursery ballot?
if she already has place there they cannot ballot her place.
Like andrew joined in aug last year and continues until next year and we just enrolled ewan and he starts jan 2011.
what nursery does she go to? is it a private one?
