The Hamper making thread

Post by mimi on Mon Oct 11, 2010 5:40 pm

Im going to make hampers this year again! So I thought i'd start a thread for anyone who wants to join me.

Basically i am going to do one for fil, one for my mum and dad, one for sil and one for my sister.

To go in them my ideas so far are;

Home-made tree decoration (by tyler)
nicely packaged bath products, possibly lush, n-spa or soapshop
Alcohol (for adult ones) such as whiskey/wine/champers
presse
seeds
dvd/cd
bath puff
biscuits
preserves
chocolate
pate rillettes (if i can get hold of some)
saucisse sec
Yankee candle (the 2010 christmas one)
coffee
candles
photo frame
hot chocolate, marshmallows
books/magazine
pasta + a posh sauce
nice olive oil
water in nice bottle
2011 calendar
diary
notecards and paper.

i think for my fil the theme will be stuff he likes, so food, books, cd
sil will be pamper, so bath stuff, chocolate, candles etc
my sister i will do stuff she can take back to boarding school, so calendar, notecards, bubble bath, her own cup, chocolate
and my mum and dad will be a big mix of stuff, im going to make their one really huge, and make it from all of us.

if things are going well for sil and her boyfriend still at christmas and we have met him a few times by then im going to also do them a night in one, with dvds doritos and dip Very Happy

just need to get baskets, celophane and ribbon off ebay now, then start shopping!!!

yeah, im trying to work out the cheapest place to get it at the minute cause a lot of online floristry shops sell it too.

thats what i think, cause with a hamper you can put lots of bits you wouldnt normally wrap up and give as a pressie, but in a hamper you can Very Happy
