Saw to my snakes
Well last night I decided to get my snakes out and clean them out and feed them etc, Monty was very keen to be out and held although had to put him in with Pai for a few mins whilst I cleaned out his home. Neither of them seemed interested in their food either so left it in their homes so they could get it later if wanted and luckily they both seem to have eaten them by this morning.
Also Jet my leopard gecko has started to get a bit more sociable, I did think I'd lost her a while ago as NEVER saw her but it turned out she was hiding behind the background in the viv, but over the last month or two she is forever out and about again and will come on over to me and try to get out. Skye on the other hand well she doesnt really want to be handled and is happy just pondering about the viv. I really do need to rehome the leopard geckos though as could do with the viv for Monty and I dont have the room to put an extra viv, well its either them or Monty but I think I prefer my snakes. Ah I dunno I need a bigger house lol.

Re: Saw to my snakes
The animals are the easy part well except for Ty, they only take a little looking after I just have to remember to feed them which I'm pretty bad at luckily the snakes only feed once a week or every two weeks sometimes longer if they are being picky lol.... Its the kids that are harder work lol

Re: Saw to my snakes
No Katie they eat dead ones, you buy them frozen then defrost and reheat in boiling water (well thats how I do mine), I keep a bag of them in the freezer sounds gross but IMO its no worse than keeping normal frozen meat in there as it doesnt come into contact with any of the other stuff in there. It did take me a while to get accustomed to doing that but its cheaper and easier than visiting a pet shop every week for them.

Re: Saw to my snakes
i agree... its much better that they are already dead. and aint nothing wrong with keeping them in the freezer. we had a toad in a giant hailstone in our freezer for a year when i was a kid lol
Re: Saw to my snakes
i wont ask how it became hail lol.... I wouldnt be able to feed live rats/mice as I still see them as pets
