My christmas memory
This is not about Santa, but about a Christmas tree....
Every year when we were kids, dad always went up into the woods in the early hours and chopped a christmas tree down and dragged it down the streets til he got home. He would then put it in a bucket of sand and stood it on this table, so when me and my sister woke up there it was.... We would always ask dad where he got it from and he told his story...
I was walking thru the woods with the dog, all peacful and quite when all of a sudden a little voice said "mister mister, I'm here", I turned around and could see no one about so carried on walking, there it was again that little voice "mister mister, I'm here, please don't leave me" , I then stood and looked and listened and there it was a talking tree, "please don;t leave me mister, its cold out here, please take me home to your nice warm house", If you don't take me the man with the axe will chop me up for firewood". What could I do? I had to bring the tree home with me, so I dug him up and bought him home and now he wants you both to wrap him up warm with tinsel and decorations.
We heard this story every year, up until I was about 15 and I sat and listened and loved every word my dad said, never got bored.
