I'm getting a UPDATED!!!!!
Rabbit on Sunday. I want Guinea pigs and I text a lady I know where she got her set up from for her Rabbit, her reply was, "you can have my Rabbit/cage/complete set up for free"!!!!! She's a child minder and as not got time for it. The Rabbit is 3 years old and lives in a hutch thats about 4ft off the ground, its got a hole in the base of the hutch with a ladder that goes all the way down on floor then its got a big pen.
I asked her what she sleeps on and she said nothing, the Rabbit pulls the straw out on the hutch??? I think I'll try her with it though. Her name is Lavender lol.
I was thinking about getting a baby Guinea pig to put with her for company, but am confused now coz I read somewhere that don't do this then if you go on RSPCA sites animal rescue sites it says you can, it even shows you pictures of them together. If I got a baby one then Lavender will more than likely mother it, so my dad said lol.
xx

Re: I'm getting a UPDATED!!!!!
thats a good deal, perhaps try the rabbit with hay for bedding or wood shavings. I think there is a thing about rabbits and guinea pigs not being compatable although I always thought they were until I read something somewhere also think there is a risk of the rabbit squashing the guinea pig in the hutch. rabbits are fine on their own anyway.

Re: I'm getting a UPDATED!!!!!
i thinking of getting a wee piggy as well need to run it by rob first lol
Re: I'm getting a UPDATED!!!!!
thats great, be careful putting a pig in though as if its a big rabbit it can do damage to the pig, my rabbit i had yrs ago bit my pigs ears off, i had to rush him to the vets, if the rabbit has been on his own for 3yrs hes less likely to accept him,its easier to get them to accept each other when they r both babies, good luck with the rabbit though x
Re: I'm getting a UPDATED!!!!!
Well after much thought we have decided not to adopt Lavender. She is 3 years old, in a massive Hutch/run, she hops off most of the time if you stroke her and she can't be put with a Guinea pig. Not gonna be much fun for Jake and Jess, a rabbit who won't be sociable, she s not had much handling at all.
So back to plan B
Guinea pigs!!!!

Re: I'm getting a UPDATED!!!!!
see I'd have got her and spent the time socialising her yes it would take time but then again you cant gurantee an animal that you get from a petshop wont be the same, most take time being socialised. Hope you find the right animal for you hun. I must admit I prefer rabbits to pigs.
