Guinea Pig Advice

right i'm seriously contemplating getting one as they seem relatively east to look after i think it would be good for abbie and xander to have some responsibility

so what do i need plus is it a prob that i'm allergix to sawdust can there be an altertive for bedding???

well i line my hutch with paper then saw dust but for u paper and straw would be fine, then i stuff the bed part with hay, the hutch has 2 sections, one bit is where they sleep.

they eat guinea pig food, u can pick up a bag for a couple of quid from the shop, they also love fresh food, basha ate half a cucumber to himself last night!!

i go to sommerfield next to me at night and get a bag full of reduced veg lol basha also likes grapes and apples!!

what else........ thats about it, once u get one and look in the guinea pig section u will see all the diff stuff u can get, ive got a boredom ball, shampoo a brush lol

do u have a pets a home? u could go buy a book about them, or they do free leaflets about them.

oh i bought a bed from pets at home, its like a cat bed and its so snuggly, i sneak up and peak in and hes curled in it lol

i keep Basha outside in his hutch but we bring him in everyday, well jess demands him to come in lol

theyre not meant to have sawdust are they, i was told hay only

no way all my pigs have had sawdust and the pigs in the pet shop have sawdust too, weird x

she said to me dont give it (pets at home) as they have sensitive eyes

no way, all the pigs in my pets at home have sawdust, weird why they all say diff, my pigs always been ok with it, suppose its like anything some things irrate some and not others x

saw dust is different to wood shavings saw dust is exactly that its the fine dust the pigs in pet shops are kept on shavings not dust.
