she knocked the treat out of taylors hand
then tried to bite her should have seen taylors face...she only put her teeth over taylors finger and i just pulled taylor away in time i think...i dont think she was actually going to bite her as she was being gentle.
but i smelled taylors hand and her hands smell like chocolate (she just had some cookie brekkie lol)
its great gaining the hamsters confidence and shes allowing me to pick her up now.... i know a hamster isnt much but its our first family pet lol...she will crawl onto my leg out of her cage and come hide in my jumper pocket or cardigan...whichever i have on.
kevin is a little scared of pets like that as he was bitten by a ferret when he was young on the face ...id be scared too lol....
its funny though when you have pets as a child you dont think twice about picking them up if they havent been handled before but now...phew ! lol i have been shit scared of her up till now LMAO
my little sister has been the one handling her most when she comes up but then tinkerbell isnt the average sized baby hamster she is massive and bigger than my mums hamster who is 2 now. think shes a cross between a gerbil and a hamster (yeah shes that big lol)
will have to try get some new pics up lol
any tips from mummies of little furry pets would be great thanks x

Re: she knocked the treat out of taylors hand
I think Tinkerbell is a syrian hamster hun which is why she is so big. Do you have pics of Tinkerbell and your mums hamster so I can compare? Personally I prefer pet mice to hamsters ok they are smaller but they have more personality and tend to be friendlier than hamsters IMO. Although male mice STINK. Perhaps a house rabbit would be a good idea you can get some lovely little rabbits now Rex or Rex crosses are just gorgeous as they are silky smooth. Only problem with a house rabbit is they can chew wires but you can easily stop that by making sure they cant get to them and you can litter train them. Personally though I dont think its a bet your after hun I think its a man that will give you some love/attention and something different to focus on.... But thats just my opinion lol

Re: she knocked the treat out of taylors hand
If your mums is male then that could be why as females tend to be larger than males in most species of animals.

Re: she knocked the treat out of taylors hand
I suppose it depends on type of animal but I'm sure in rodents females are larger than males normally its same with snakes female snakes are normally larger than male.
