Re: We have a lizard :)
aww leopard geckos are cool I have two Skye and Jet only thing I don't like about keeping leopard geckos is the escaping crickets. What kind of set up do you have? Do you have a thermostat? Also what do you have on the bottom of the viv? If you have him on sand your probably best off changing it to some lino tiles as sand can cause impaction and cause them to starve to death well that is what I was told when I got my 1st one who was kept on sand so switched to lino tiles and its been a godsend as they look good and only need a wipe down every now and then unlike other substrates.

Re: We have a lizard :)
Sand does look good but unfortunately its quite bad for them well according the reptile forum I go on so I didn't want to risk it and went for lino tiles which to be honest works out cheaper in the long run and looks good too. Depending on type of viv and size of the prey depends on if they can escape I know crickets and small locusts escape my viv. Mealworms arent too bad I even breed my own and feed the small beetles that they turn into to mine too. Can't wait to see pics of Leo. I might have to get some new pics of all my reptiles.
What kind of aquatic frog do you have? I always wanted one of them. To be honest I don't blame your OH for not wanting a puppy I think I'd join him lol although I do have a dog I just can't stand all the hairs and muck that follows lol. You could opt for a house rabbit they don't need walking don't mault as much and you can shut in their hutch/cage when they are naughty lol

Re: We have a lizard :)
So far had no probs with them escaping i would quite probably pass out if they escaped ! had a word with the guy in the petshop about the sand he said that its okay with him because 1 -hes a year n a half old apparantly if their under a year its bad for them n 2 its a fine grained calcium based sand we have so he said it should be fine aslong as we monitor no mould is able to form where the water dish is. gonna have a wee think about it tho dont want anythin happening to him
they are african dwarf frogs real cute wee guys!
i always wanted a miniature schnauzer but been out off after my aunts bit my mum ! and also heard they are really bad for being clingy (for lack of a better word) to their owners.
LOL! i think rabbits are really cute but allan says no cos they smell (not dirty just general rabbit smells)!
Yeah lol their a bit different angela Kayden loves watchin them all

Re: We have a lizard :)
he's cute but looking a little thin for a yearling his tail should be plumper how many locusts does he have a day? Were you advised to leave some calcium powder in his viv 24/7 ans so you have a moist hide for when he is due to shed? Kep an eye on his toes for retained shed as they an lose toes because of it I learnt the hard way with mine. Hope you don't mind me asking these questions etc? I can let you know about the reptileforum I use via pm if you would like their expert opinions? I'm no expert just advising on areas that I've learnt.
I love the frogs they are so cute. Think I might have to invest in some in the future.

Re: We have a lizard :)
2 locusts every two days isn't enough at all, dare I ask how much your paying per box as 10 locusts a box is a small amount. My leos get about 10 mealworms in a dish between them sometimes more as I don't count, I also chuck in a few locusts/crickets or beetles too to give them something to actively hunt. I will pm you the reptileforum and the people there should be able to give you a more varied amount they should be eating. Were you told to feed the locusts on veg whilst you keep them before feeding to leo so they are more nutritious for him?

Re: We have a lizard :)
lol I read it as you got ten in a box and they said to feed him 2 locusts every 2 days lol. I'd probably offer him 5 each day rather than giving him a days break between.
