New addition to family
Well went to a petshop today to have a look at fishtanks and possible fish as really wanted to get back into fish keeping. Saw a nice tank for £100 that nearly bought but then went on to see a leopard gecko complete set up inc heater, light, sand you name it and the leopard gecko for £150. Needless to say I ended up walking out with that instead. We have named it pan and it is gorgeous, has blue above its eyes and is yellow, purple and white with brown spots. is only a baby. Works out cheaper in the long run than having fish too. Will post pics of him when I get some decent pics.

Re: New addition to family
They are one of the easiest lizards to keep apparently. Got to give him 5 crickets a day for now until he gets bigger. They dont need UV lights, just a heat mat or bulb. somewhere to hide and when shedding somewhere damp to help them shed. They dont climb glass like other geckos either and are very tame. although mine is scared at the mo keeps doing a runner. Wonder if he is out again going to start to handle him in a couple of days well I say him it could be a her dont know.

Re: New addition to family
so will he be able to wander about in the house once he is used to being handled? or do you have to put him straight back in his tank?

Re: New addition to family
I dont think I'd risk having him roam the house lol they are quick little devils when they want to be and dont grow that big unlike lizards like bearded dragons which I would also like to keep at some point. They also need to be kept warm so having it roam the house is a pretty big no no.
